Numerous events on the topic of urban nature in September
In September, the Mach's grüner Tage (Make it greener days) will take place in Chemnitz for the second time.
"Make it greener" is the title of a campaign for Chemnitz's urban nature. The aim is to raise awareness of the topic of urban nature and highlight the opportunities for each individual to influence our urban nature. The campaign is organised by Team Stadtnatur, consisting of the City Planning Office, Environmental Office and Green Space Office of the City of Chemnitz.
After the Mach's grüner Tage in September 2023, these will now take place annually. The Climate Adaptation Week of the Centre for Climate Adaptation (ZKA) and the Green Building Action Week of the German Green Building Association (BuGG) will be used as a current reference.
During the week, from 16 to 20 September, there will be numerous events, including an Urban Nature Slam (poetry slam), an Urban Nature Walk (urban nature walk), a World Café and various workshops on the topic of biodiversity.
From 26 September to 2 October, there will also be something special for children: "NBS x Minecraft - Designing green solutions for Chemnitz with Minecraft". Pupils in years 2 to 5 can use Minecraft to discover, learn about, plan and design nature-based solutions in cities. The aim of the project is to encourage young people's creativity and imagination and to teach them how nature can be used to solve challenges such as climate change locally. A total of eight such workshops will be offered in conjunction with the Schlingel film festival.
