Inclusion Officer of the City of Chemnitz
The Inclusion Officer is the contact person and advocate for people with disabilities, their relatives and social services. She supports people with disabilities, campaigns for equal participation in the community and helps to prevent disadvantages. It also participates in committees that promote and help shape the development of a barrier-free Chemnitz.
It is involved in various committees in the Free State of Saxony, such as the State Youth Welfare Committee and the Saxon State Advisory Council for the Interests of People with Disabilities.
It regularly reports on its work to the city council.

Since 2014, the Free State of Saxony has been supporting investment in the removal of barriers under the slogan ‘Favourite places for everyone’.
These measures are designed to make it possible for EVERYONE to use any restaurant, go to the cinema without restriction, visit a museum or take part in sports at a club. Many of these facilities are, for example, currently inaccessible to wheelchair users or cannot be used to their full extent, whilst information is not comprehensible to people with hearing or visual impairments, or to those with learning difficulties.
Applications for the measures must be submitted to Chemnitz City Council by 31 October of the current year, and the measures must be implemented in the following year.
