A wedding is one of the most beautiful moments and memories in a couple's life. We are delighted that you wish to seal your marriage in Chemnitz. You must register your marriage at the registry office in whose jurisdiction one of the partners is resident.
Wedding dates
To ensure that your preferred wedding date is available, we recommend that you enquire about and book it well in advance at the registry office. You can view the current availability of wedding dates under the relevant wedding venue.
Please note that dates for all wedding venues in Chemnitz must be arranged through the Registry Office. This applies both to wedding venues run by the City of Chemnitz and to those operated by external providers.
Registration
When registering the marriage, the couple's marriage requirements are checked.
Registration can take place at the earliest 6 months before the wedding date. If there are no office hours on the day you have calculated (Sunday or public holiday), you have the opportunity to register your marriage on the following office day.
