for the entire city area in the town hall

The second residents’ meeting of 2026 will take place on Thursday, 8 October. All interested residents of Chemnitz were invited to attend at the Town Hall from 5 pm to 7 pm.

In the first part of the meeting, Lord Mayor Sven Schulze, the Mayor and the deputy mayors will provide an update on current developments and key projects in the city.

Afterwards, participants will have the opportunity to raise their concerns with the city administration and key stakeholders and engage in discussion.

Accessibility

We aim to make the event as accessible as possible once again, so sign language interpreters will be present during the first part. The event rooms on the first and second floors are accessible by lift. The lift is equipped with a bilingual audio announcement and control buttons featuring Braille.

Getting here

The Town Hall can be reached via most of the city’s bus and tram routes; alight at the ‘Zentralhaltestelle’ or ‘Roter Turm’ stops. Parking is available, amongst other places, in the car park at Getreidemarkt and in the numerous multi-storey car parks in the city centre (subject to a charge). There are two free parking spaces for people with disabilities at the rear of the Town Hall.

Public guided tour of the town hall

Once again, two free guided tours of the town hall will be taking place simultaneously. From 3.30 pm, interested residents of Chemnitz can view the treasures of the Old and New Town Halls, as well as the tower. As places are limited, booking is required.
