Car park concept stage 2b is implemented
Reminder: Parking zone E comes into force on 1 July
From 1 July, the new parking zone E will be put into operation as planned in accordance with the parking space concept for Chemnitz city centre (level 2b) - as already announced (see press release 144).
On this occasion, we would like to point out once again that from this date onwards, parking in several streets in Zone E will only be permitted with a parking ticket. The traffic signs will only be displayed at the entrance and exit of the zones. Within the parking zone, no further signage will indicate that a parking ticket must be purchased.
At the same time, the new residents' parking zone E will come into operation from 1 July. Residents with a valid resident parking permit are exempt from the obligation to pay fees (parking with a parking ticket). Applications for resident parking permits can be made either online at www.chemnitz.de/bewohnerparkausweis or by email to: bewohnerparkausweis(at)stadt-chemnitz.de.
Chemnitz residents and guests of the city are once again asked to pay increased attention to the parking regulations that will then apply on site on the Sonnenberg in Zone E and to behave in accordance with the signage.
The parking space concept was approved by the city council in 2017 and is being implemented in line with parking space requirements, the legal basis, urban planning developments and traffic and environmental policy objectives.
