Postal voting centre in Moritzhof opens today - instant voting possible
All eligible voters in Chemnitz received their election notification by 11 August. This contains all the information on voting for the state election on 1 September 2024 and can also be used to request postal voting documents. You can also vote immediately at the postal voting centre. All information can be found at: www.chemnitz.de/landtagswahl
The postal voting office in Moritzhof, Bahnhofstraße 53, has been open since today, 12 August.
The opening hours are
Monday/Wednesday 8.30 am to 4 pm,
Tuesday/Thursday 8.30 am to 6 pm,
Friday 8.30 am to 12 noon,
and on 30 August 8.30 am to 4 pm.

It is essential to bring the polling card application form - which can be found on the back of the polling card - and your identity card or passport with you to the postal voting centre.
The voter will receive the polling card and postal voting documents there and can then vote immediately on site. Further information can be found in the election notification or at www.chemnitz.de/landtagswahl.
Postal voting documents can also be applied for online via an online application form, by e-mail to: briefwahl(at)stadt-chemnitz.de or by fax to 0371 488-7490. State parliament election on 1 September 2024
Around 190,000 Chemnitz residents are called upon to cast their votes on 1 September 2024 to help decide the composition of the 8th Saxon state parliament.
The polling stations in the 129 electoral districts of Chemnitz will open at 8 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. on election Sunday. Counting of the votes will then begin.
Public presentation of the election results on election evening in the town hall
The provisional election results of the state election in Chemnitz will be presented on election evening in Chemnitz City Hall.
As in previous elections, interested citizens, media representatives and representatives of parties and voters' associations will be able to follow the election results from the 190 Chemnitz electoral districts and postal ballot boards live on a large projection screen from 6 pm. Admission begins at 5 pm.
At the same time, the provisional election results will be published on the City of Chemnitz website at www.chemnitz.de.
