Payment of emergency aid in progress - recording of damage not yet completed - reminders and enforcement suspended
Emergency aid has been paid out in Chemnitz since last Thursday. So far, 106 citizens have applied for support. 99 payments have already been made. The amount paid out so far totals 90,650 euros.
Important: The emergency aid can only be applied for until 25 June. The administration therefore requests that affected citizens submit their applications by this date.
The emergency aid is granted for damage to residential buildings from the ground floor upwards. A one-off payment of 400 euros per affected adult and 250 euros per affected minor child will be made. The emergency aid can be applied for in the customer portal of the social welfare office in Moritzhof. Applications can also be submitted by post or fax; the application form is available at www.chemnitz.de. Those affected by the floods can also obtain information on emergency aid and other aid programmes by calling the 115 service hotline.
As the damage assessment is still ongoing, the administration requests that citizens and companies continue to report their flood damage by calling 115 or sending an email to hochwasserhilfe(at)stadt-chemnitz.de.
A donations committee will decide on the distribution of the donations received so far. Here, too, it is important to report flood damage to the administration as quickly as possible so that hardship cases can be identified.

The damage balance of the companies, which is recorded by the municipal economic development organisation CWE, currently amounts to approx. 1.9 million euros. So far, 97 companies have registered. Dunning and enforcement will be suspended from now until 31 December 2013 for citizens and companies affected by the floods. Trade tax, property tax and amusement tax will be deferred without interest until 31 December 2013 for citizens and companies affected by the floods upon request. This must be applied for at the cash and tax office. The prerequisite is that those affected have reported their damage to the city in advance. This is possible via the service hotline 115 or by email to hochwasserhilfe(at)stadt-chemnitz.de
Euba Dam: The lowering of the water level with three siphon pipes and the outlet was successful over the past weekend. Today, Tuesday, the water level was still 31 centimetres above the target reservoir level, which should be reached on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest, depending on the weather. The dam will then be completely drained in order to assess the damage to the bottom outlet and decide on the next steps.
