Funding for art and culture is still available
The deadline for spontaneous projects is 15 November
Funding is still available this year for the promotion of art and culture. The City of Chemnitz's cultural department points this out.
Projects in 2023:
Funding from a reserve fund is still available for spontaneous projects in the current year 2023. Corresponding applications can be submitted to the Kulturbetrieb/Cultural Management, Cultural Strategy department until 15 November 2023. For small projects with a maximum application amount of 2,000 euros, the application can be submitted online via the Amt24.de portal. Project applications for more than 2,000 euros are sent to the Kulturbetrieb using a form.
Projects that include artist-in-residence measures are eligible for special funding in the current year based on the decision of the Culture Committee. The application amount for the individual artist exchange project is limited to a maximum of 3,000 euros. These measures can be applied for by associations and non-profit initiatives from all artistic and cultural sectors. Socio-cultural associations may also invite an artist to familiarise them with the urban community and culture in Chemnitz. Measures for artist exchanges and to promote the mobility of creative professionals are a particular focus of the City of Chemnitz's cultural strategy.
Projects in 2024:
For planned projects in 2024 with an application amount of up to a maximum of 3,500 euros, there is still the opportunity to submit applications by 1 September 2023 at the latest. The Cultural Committee will decide on the allocation of funding after preliminary consultation by the Cultural Advisory Board in spring 2024.
