Stolperstein laying ceremony on 5 November 2026

24 new Stolpersteine will be laid in Chemnitz on 5 November 2026. The route takes in nine locations across the city and will be accompanied by the sponsors of the memorial stones, family members, pupils from schools in Chemnitz and interested members of the public.

The event will begin at 9 am with a ceremonial opening attended by Mayor Ralph Burghart, during which five Stolpersteine commemorating the Lewin family will be unveiled at Stefan-Heym-Platz 1, in front of the smac.
