Where can I find pharmacies where I can hand in my old medication?

All participating pharmacies are labelled with a sign. In future, these pharmacies will also be linked on the ASR website. Another way to obtain information is to call the ASR customer hotline.

At the indoor swimming pool/shopping centre in the Yorck area, there is a passageway that directs traffic into the Yorck area. The 30 km/h speed limit is not being adhered to. As a result, there is considerable road noise on Scharnhorststraße.

The public order office is responsible for monitoring traffic. It is being examined whether there is sufficient space on site to set up a speed enforcement vehicle.

Traffic in the Yorck area has increased significantly and the streets are very narrow for the large amount of traffic.

The reason for this is that the population as a whole has become more mobile. Most families no longer have just one vehicle, but several. There are also many roadworks, which is why traffic has to divert to other roads, sometimes in residential areas.

The police are responsible for moving traffic, such as non-compliance with traffic signs.

Bersarinstraße is littered with beer bottles and rubbish bags, among other things.

It would be favourable if the littering could be limited to a specific day or time, as it is very difficult to catch those responsible.

The city's public order service will maintain a presence (patrols, foot patrols) and prioritise checks.

Clausewitzstraße 21 was a wild rubbish dump at Reifenpoint for months. Since the clothes container has been removed from the site, more and more rubbish has been dumped (including sofas and shoes). The rubbish drivers should have seen this.

The ASR is responsible on the one hand and the environmental agency/waste authority on the other.

Rubbish dumps are checked by the waste authority and appropriate measures are then taken.

In such cases, please call 115 and report the location so that the city becomes aware of it as quickly as possible.

Bulky waste used to be collected on fixed dates, but now you have to book an appointment. This is inconvenient for many people. As a result, people simply leave the bulky waste by the container, creating rubbish dumps.

The reason for the change from fixed dates to registration is that citizens have also deposited all sorts of things at the sites on the fixed dates.

The current bulky waste ordering process is uncomplicated and free of charge. You can set a date corridor with the ASR, the ASR then collects the dates, then gives the citizen a date, the citizen puts out their bulky waste and the ASR collects it. As others do not know about this appointment, they cannot put their rubbish out in addition.

For a small surcharge (approx. €10), you can also specify a preferred date and the ASR will then come on the requested day.

The organic waste starts to stink due to the heat. Can residents put something in it?

Residents cannot throw anything into the bin as this can disrupt the rotting process. It has been communicated several times in the press that there was a pilot project "biofilter lid" by the ASR.

This biofilter lid is placed on the bin instead of the normal lid for an additional charge. It prevents odours and pest infestation.

The housing co-operatives are aware of the biofilter lid option. Tenants can contact their landlord if they have any problems.

Zeisigwaldstraße / Bersarinstraße residential area: This is actually a 30 km/h zone. The streets are parked up on the left and right. People are speeding.

Gullies are blocked. Plants are growing out of the gullies.

They are currently cleaned at regular intervals (approx. once a year). Some gullies are in depressions and get dirty faster than others. Furthermore, it is sometimes impossible to reach the gullies due to parked cars.

The ASR is checking the following:

1. to clean the street inlets as part of the street cleaning programme.
2. in co-operation with the Parks Department, to clean the street inlets as part of tree pruning work.

In future, all gullies are to be digitised and provided with information (e.g. heavily or less heavily soiled). This will allow the frequency to be adjusted and heavily soiled road gullies to be cleaned more frequently. Heavy soiling can be reported to the ASR, in which case this street inlet will be approached separately.

On Eubaer Straße, a 30 km/h zone, there is an increased volume of traffic and speeding occurs. Speed cameras should be used there.

The matter is being investigated.

Allotment garden association Jungborn am Forsthaus e.V./Gasthaus Zum Jungborn: There was a "Nationalist Garden Christmas" there.

The Jungborn inn is already known to the police. State security is involved.

All allotment garden associations have been informed that the use of such a garden inn is only in accordance with the intended purpose and is not used for political purposes/events.

What should I do if foreign children are climbing around on the roof of my garage?

First and foremost, the person concerned must take action themselves, as it is a private property. Whenever there is a danger, such as a danger to life and limb, because someone could fall, you should call the police.

How often were the police on site at the Gablenz outdoor pool last year? The city police were there even more often.

It is not possible to give an exact number of call-outs. However, there were agreements between the city and the police that a presence would be shown. This also means that they were not always deployed.

There is no construction board at the Gablenzer Oberschule construction project.
Why is there no information about what is happening there?

As the secondary school is being renovated, mobile classrooms will be set up in the grounds from the coming school year. The refurbishment cannot take place while the school is open.

The refurbishment will not change the school's capacity.

Among other things, the school will be drained and the caretaker's flat will be converted for school purposes.
There is always a building board, as this is required by building regulations. We decided not to put up another larger construction board, as it is very easy to see what is going to happen when the containers are put up. However, we are happy to check again. Of course, we always provide transparent information, especially to those affected, i.e. the school management, parents and pupils.
No "preparatory classes for foreigners" (VKA classes) are currently planned at the site.

Has any land been sold on the site of the planned Charlottenstraße primary school?

No, a piece of land has even been purchased for the running track. A co-operation for school garden lessons is planned with the neighbouring allotment garden, as space is scarce.

What project is planned here next to the Terra Nova campus?

A campus is to be built from 2023, with two classes each for primary and secondary schools. The campus is intended to be a model, as it is planned that some areas will be used jointly for primary and secondary schools.

Will the broadband connection already be pre-installed in our new school buildings or will it have to be rebuilt?

Broadband is to be implemented in all schools with the digital pact. Of course, the infrastructure has to be established first, as this is not yet available in all schools. Each school is currently drawing up a "media development plan". The next step is to consider which structural requirements still need to be created for each school.

What support is currently planned by the city for the "Chemnitzer Tafel"?

At the moment, the city is not providing any changes in support. However, we are constantly talking to find out about any funding programmes that the "Chemnitzer Tafel" could use.

Charlottenstraße primary school - are the sports facilities there sufficient? A sports hall was to be built on the neighbouring garage spaces.

This original idea was cancelled. The single-field sports hall is sufficient for the school.
A sports hall concept is currently being developed. In the autumn, we want to have overall transparency regarding sports facilities and requirements so that we can then plan further steps and set priorities. This will then include prioritising the biggest priorities in the next 2021/2022 double budget.

According to the information I have, the investment backlog a few years ago was €30 million for sports facilities and €36 million for swimming pools. How high is it now?

What we can say is that we currently have a shortfall in the water area in indoor swimming pools. We do not have any current figures regarding backlogs.

As we are currently renovating so much, these figures are always quickly out of date. At the same time, new repairs are needed in facilities that have not been refurbished. For example, with the construction of the new Gablenz swimming pool, we are currently investing in water space again.

Refugees are required to attend school 6 months after applying for asylum. How is this currently being implemented in Chemnitz? Also for the children who are in the initial reception centre?

The State Office for Schools and Education makes an assessment for each child as to whether schooling is possible in a regular school or in a "preparatory class for foreigners" (VKA class). This also applies to children in initial reception centres. The city of Chemnitz then follows this recommendation. We can therefore guarantee compulsory schooling in Chemnitz.

Gablenz indoor swimming pool - Why are there so few opening hours for citizens?

We currently have too few water areas. Firstly, it is our duty to ensure school swimming. The next priority is to meet the needs of club sports. We have a shortage that cannot be resolved so quickly at the moment.

Unfortunately, due to staffing and technical requirements, it is not possible to be flexible when opening the outdoor and indoor pools during holiday and closing times. This is particularly the case as the closing times have to be used for refurbishment/maintenance work. In any case, it is ensured that an indoor swimming pool is always open.

There are many complainers about the bid for the Capital of Culture 2025! Because it would cost too much money. Why is there so little public relations work on the part of the city to invalidate this argument?

It is true that the overall budget for the Capital of Culture is very high. It amounts to almost 90 million euros. However, the pure project costs amount to around 1.5 million euros.

Other planned expenditure is for sustainable urban development and infrastructure. We would have invested this in urban development anyway.

However, it should be recognised that this title would also provide the city with a great deal of additional funding, which we can use to create many beautiful things.

The youth club in the Yorck area is empty. What could be done there?

This is a great project that the local citizens' platform could plan together with the residents and then propose to the administration as an idea. This is a very practical way of practising citizen participation.

How can we attract medical professionals (nursing staff) to Chemnitz?

This task was assigned to the CWE. However, there is currently no fully developed strategy. It is clear that Chemnitz must be better placed as a place to live and work in the decision-making processes of young professionals.

Capital of Culture 2025 - Why were the citizens not involved?

There is a clear decision by the city council to prepare a bid by the city of Chemnitz for the title. So there is clear democratic legitimisation.

Citizens were and remain extensively involved in the process. For example, in October 2018 there was an event on the intervention areas with numerous citizens, which was very well received. Such meetings must and will continue to take place. So far, the focus has been on preparing the application book. This is a large and complex task. Everything else depends on it. Several dozen people are involved in writing this book. This also shows that participation is very important for the whole process and is inherent to its success.

If we don't get any further in the next round of applications for the title of Capital of Culture, what will happen to the projects that have been initiated?

The intervention areas have all been allocated a budget, so they will be pursued further. We are currently discussing how to deal with other projects. The fact is that the state of Saxony will also make funds available to cities that do not make it to the next round of applications so that some projects can still be realised or initiated.

The current routing of bus route 51 results in a disconnection from the Street of Nations.

The problem has been recognised. The situation is currently being assessed. A proposed solution will be presented to the city council in autumn 2019.

According to CVAG, it is not technically possible to restore the original situation.

What is the reasoning behind the decoupling of the Straße der Nationen?

There was extensive public participation to weigh up the local transport planning.

The cancellation of tram line 6 is incomprehensible.

There is a half-hourly or hourly service in the affected section.

The playground lighting does not make sense.

Not all playgrounds should be illuminated. This applies in particular to leisure facilities for young people.

The frequency of the rail replacement bus at the Küchwald stop should be improved.

The RE6 runs every hour, as does the SEV with a connection at the Küchwald HP; it does not make sense to increase the frequency.

Furthermore, assistance for disabled travellers is required.

This assistance is already provided, with a so-called passenger guide from DB StuS AG and the MRB train attendant on site; checks have shown that this works as agreed.

For the ring bus route 82, the connection of further destinations (including the medical centre) is desired.

The route is designed for a one-hour round trip. Further connections are not planned due to the increase in journey time. Rising passenger numbers are currently being registered.

Crossing the road at the Yorckstraße/Heinrich-Schütz-Straße junction is difficult.

If funding is made available, the construction of a new roundabout is planned here.

The car parking situation in Heinrich-Schütz-Straße is inadequate. Where should new car parks be built - e.g. on green spaces?

The City of Chemnitz has no plans to build additional car parks along Heinrich-Schütz-Straße. The parking space requirement is to be covered independently by the respective use.

When will the Hartmann secondary school be built?

Construction of the Hartmann Secondary School is scheduled to begin in February 2020. Commissioning is planned for the 2022/2023 school year.

When will the next section of the Südverbund be built?

The planning has been reduced to a 3-lane road.

The DEGES company is realising the project (not the municipality).

The first usable sections may be completed in 2024/2025.

A new location and better marketing is required for the Schilling figures.

In BA-048/2016 - Schilling Figures "Four Seasons" - Preservation and location review, the city administration was commissioned under point 2 to look for alternative locations for the Schilling Figures. In particular, the future cultural quarter on Theaterplatz was to be examined more closely.

After a renewed examination, the only possible location for the Schilling statues, apart from the current location in the new castle pond grounds planned by city planning officer Fred Otto and now a listed building, is on Theatre Square.

The cost studies for the reorganisation of the access to the theatre square, with the aim of positioning the Schilling statues, can only be carried out after the citizens have been involved. This will be included when the planning for the theatre quarter (Capital of Culture intervention area) is resumed from 2020 and there is an option for realisation.

This year, the grit was cleared on time for the first time. Building maintenance is not progressing?

The buildings with house numbers 202 - 208 are being refurbished this year. Next year, the block with house number 240 will be refurbished.

At present, interim solutions for parking rollators and pushchairs have been implemented prior to the refurbishment. Interested residents of the residential area will be invited by the Parks Department to participate in the design of the residential environment in autumn 2019.
