On 26 October 2018, the Chemnitz Mitte residents' meeting for the districts of Zentrum, Lutherviertel, Kapellenberg, Bernsdorf and Altchemnitz took place in the auditorium of the Berufliches Schulzentrum für Wirtschaft I, Lutherstraße 2, 09126 Chemnitz.

What will become of the current bus station?
The site will be acquired by the Free State of Saxony. The bus stops are not listed buildings and are to be demolished. As the suspended pylon roof and the Klapperbrunnen fountain are listed buildings, they will initially remain at the site and be renovated. Subsequent utilisation by Chemnitz University of Technology is conceivable. Following final agreement, the listed buildings are to be dismantled (if necessary) and rebuilt elsewhere.
Is it true that the weekly market on the Brühl is to be closed?
The weekly market is no longer to be operated as a market by the City of Chemnitz. It is currently being examined in what form the weekly market traders can continue to sell on this square.
How will Annenplatz be improved?
Annenplatz was renovated in 2012/13. Various discussions have revealed that there are new wishes, e.g. benches and a fountain. Two new benches will be installed by the end of the year. In 2019, a green strip will be turned into a bee meadow using a special seed mixture.
Is the video surveillance in the city centre monitored live by employees of the City of Chemnitz or the police? Are there procedures such as facial recognition?
There is no facial recognition. The images are also not tracked live. If an offence has been committed, the images will be analysed retrospectively.

Is it possible to set up a 30 km/h zone on Charlottenstrasse?
The issue will be raised again. When a school reopens on Charlottenstraße, a 30 km/h zone could possibly be set up.
500 garages are to be demolished for the construction of the sports hall at the Chemnitz school model. Is there any way to prevent this?
The city is currently trying to purchase private land for the sports hall.
If this is not successful, the city would have to use its own land (garage yard) for the new building.
