This year’s National Warning Day will take place on Thursday 10 September, and the city of Chemnitz will once again be taking part.

At 11.00 am, a test alert will be triggered centrally by the National Warning Centre in Bonn via the Modular Warning System (MoWaS). This will then appear, for example, in the NINA warning app, via the mobile network service Cell Broadcast, or on digital city information screens.

In Chemnitz, the ‘warning of danger’ signal (a one-minute wailing tone, i.e. six tones each lasting five seconds with a five-second pause between them) will be heard from the sirens at all locations and at the majority of CVAG bus stops, though without a gong or a voice announcement. The planned text for the display boards is: ‘National Warning Day 2025 – Test Alert’.

At 11.45 am, the all-clear will be given: the all-clear warning tone (a continuous one-minute tone) will sound and the text “All-clear: National Warning Day 2025” will be displayed.
