(Inter)cultural lunch at the Chemnitz Neumarkt on 11 June, 12 noon
On Saturday, 11 June, from 12 noon, the migration officer of the city of Chemnitz, Etelka Kobuß, and AGIUA e.V. invite you to an (inter)cultural lunch at Chemnitz Neumarkt. What's the best way to get to know a new culture? With a delicious three-course meal. The culinary experience is intended to encourage encounters between Chemnitz residents with and without a migration background.
Interested guests can participate without registration and free of charge - but are welcome to make a donation to AGIUA e.V. or the volunteer hosts.
There will be several lunch tables at the market on this day, each hosted by different hosts from different countries - such as Peru, Hungary, Germany and many more. The focus will be on getting to know the typical cuisine of the host countries. A starter, main course, dessert and a drink are served. But the guests can do more than just feast: they are also introduced to the ingredients, meaning and origin of the dishes. In addition, everyone at the table gets to know interesting new people from their neighbourhood and their interests. Intercultural exchange will therefore play an important role at this event.
Tables will be allocated at random. Each person gets their own ticket. This means that couples or family members will probably sit at different tables.
