Road users are asked to pay attention to the new traffic signals at the intersection of Dresdner Straße / Frankenberger Straße / Hainstraße tomorrow (12 July): The traffic lights here have been completely renewed and measures to increase road safety have been implemented (for details of the measure, see PM 255 dated 16/05/2013 - www.chemnitz.de).

Left-turning vehicles on Dresdner Straße - in both directions - and right-turning vehicles on Frankenberger Straße and Hainstraße will be given their own turning signal, allowing them to turn safely.

Public transport vehicles will be able to drive here at an accelerated speed, i.e. buses will be able to drive quickly in priority when requested by the bus driver after appropriate signalling.

At the beginning of the week (Monday, 8 July), the partially renewed traffic light system at the Frankenberger Straße / Margaretenstraße junction (concerning the equipment) was put back into operation. According to the civil engineering office, the system can now be controlled depending on traffic.

Signalling and lane allocation - photos: For reasons of traffic safety, left-turning vehicles on Frankenberger Straße now have their own left-turn signal, so that the lane allocation had to be changed. Planning boards indicate this change in traffic routing.

Acceleration measures have been taken into account for the buses on routes 21 and 32, i.e. the buses can also drive with priority here if requested by the bus driver.
