In January of the new year, the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre and the Chair of Applied Gerontopsychology and Cognition at Chemnitz University of Technology are launching a four-part series of courses on topics that make for successful ageing. For example, it will deal with images of old age, the importance of a good night's sleep, learning and memory as well as the positive effects of social activities in old age.
The 90-minute courses will be led by female students from the Technical University.
The courses are part of a study project modelled on the successful Aging Mastery Programme® in the USA. This involves developing learning materials for low-threshold, activating course units for older adults on various health-related topics.
The courses are open to all senior citizens and are free of charge.
