Start of the Intercultural Weeks in Chemnitz
Invitation to the press conference on Friday, 13 September, 10 a.m., Chemnitz City Hall, Room 118
In preparation for the Intercultural Weeks, Mayor Ralph Burghart and the city's migration officer, Etelka Kobuß, invite you to a press conference on Friday, 13 September 2019, 10 a.m., in City Hall, Room 118.
The Intercultural Weeks will begin with a festival of cultures on Saturday, 21 September 2019 at 12 noon on the market square in Chemnitz. From 21 September to 6 October, the Intercultural Weeks will be promoting tolerant coexistence and cohesion in society under the motto: "Living together, keeping together".
The opening event, designed as a festival of cultures, is one of the cultural highlights and an important date for immigrants and organisations working in the field of integration. Everyone is invited, whether with or without a migration background.
The programme of the event series can be found here.
This year's Intercultural Weeks are financed by the City of Chemnitz with funding from the Cultural Office, with funds from the Local Action Plan and through sponsorship from the utility company eins energie. The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation also contributes financially to the organisation. The participating organisations also make a significant contribution to the successful implementation of the Intercultural Weeks with their involvement.
