Mayor Sven Schulze has today convened a special meeting of the City Council for 2 September at 3.00 pm.
This is in accordance with Section 36(3), sentence 4 of the Saxon Local Government Act, which stipulates that the City Council must be convened without delay (that is, within a notice period of eight working days) “at the request of one-fifth of the city councillors”.
The relevant motion was tabled by members of the AfD council group and members of the BSW group. The subject of the motion is the “handling of motions for resolutions by the City of Chemnitz and communication by the Lord Mayor in exceptional cases/urgent decisions”.
The agenda can be found on the City of Chemnitz’s council information system at www.chemnitz.de.
