Monday, 24 June
Mayor Barbara Ludwig, together with Béla Bélafi, Director of the Saxon Education Agency, Jörg Heynoldt, Head of the Chemnitz Regional Office of the Saxon Education Agency, and Headmistress Annett Goerlitzchsische Bildungsagentur, and headmistress Annett Goerlitz, laid the foundation stone for the largest school construction project in the city of Chemnitz, the construction of the Chemnitz Special Education Centre for the Physically Disabled (PM 396 from 20.06.2013).
The ground-breaking ceremony for the construction project took place in August 2012.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig welcomes representatives of the US twin city Akron: Mayor of Economics Robert Y. Bowman and advisor Stephen Kidder are in Chemnitz for talks at TCC and the Technical University (PM 402 from 21/06/2013).

Mayor Barbara Ludwig visits the summer festival of the Chemnitz school model.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig accepts an invitation to a colloquium to mark the 60th birthday of Prof Dr Reimund Neugebauer, President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.

Under the patronage of Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig, the 22nd International Boxing Tournament will take place in the Schloßteichhalle from 28 to 30 June 2013. The participants will once again include athletes from Chemnitz's twin cities.
