Invitation to a day of action against right-wing violence. Organiser is the coordination office for the Local Action Plan for Democracy, Tolerance and a Cosmopolitan Chemnitz together with the Chemnitz Workers' Welfare Association, sponsor of the campaign "Show your face against right-wing violence" (PM 521 from 05.09.2012).

Mayor Barbara Ludwig opens the Brühl office of the City of Chemnitz together with Minister of State Markus Ulbig. At the event, the Saxon Minister of the Interior presents the Mayor of Chemnitz with a funding cheque for the upgrading of the Brühlboulevard. (You will receive a separate invitation to this event).

Mayor Barbara Ludwig welcomes the Röhrsdorf tournament hosts and their guests from Wiesbaden, Turnbridge and Chemnitz's twin city Ljubljana on the occasion of a city comparison equestrian tournament (you will receive a separate invitation to the photo session).

Mayor Barbara Ludwig opens the third "Days of Industrial Culture" together with Minister of State Sabine von Schorlemer. The three-day series of events will focus on the topic of "Mobility".

Mayor Barbara Ludwig welcomes the participants of a delegation from the No 2 People's Hospital in the Chinese twin city of Taiyuan. The visit to Chemnitz will focus on tours of various medical facilities in Chemnitz.

Saturday, 15 September
9. National comparison of the height rescue groups of the professional fire services. Twelve teams, including one from Mulhouse, Chemnitz's French twin city, will compete in the three-station competition (press release 522 dated 5 September 2012).
The award ceremony will take place on site at around 6 pm.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig welcomes the participants of the Inclusion Congress of the SPD parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig opens the Youth Art Triennial of the Saxon-Bavarian City Network and honours the prize winners. (You will receive a separate invitation).
The exhibition, developed in cooperation between the city's cultural office and the Neue Sächsische Galerie, will be on display until 28 October 2012 (PM 500 from 29 August 2012).

Opening of the new special exhibition "PABLO PICASSO Suite Volard". General Director Ingrid Mössinger welcomes the guests to the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz, Klaus Gollwitz, Museum Director emeritus, Karlsruhe, will give an introduction.

The European Mobility Week takes place from 16 to 22 September and this year's motto is "Heading in the right direction". (You will receive a separate press release about this).

Performance by artist Herman Kolgen together with musicians from the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra and other guests. The performance is entitled "Train Fragments" and is a co-production with the festival "kammerMachen - News from Theatre and Sound Art".
