Opening of the new special exhibition with works by Mario Nigro (1917-1992), one of the most important representatives of geometric abstraction in Italy. The Mayor of Chemnitz, Philipp Rochold, will give the opening address. The exhibition, which is accompanied by a programme of lectures under the patronage of the Italian Cultural Institute Berlin, will be on display until 3 February 2013.

Mayor Barbara Ludwig welcomes participants to the Great Mountain Parade, traditionally organised in Chemnitz on the eve of the 1st Advent and this year for the 34th time, and accepts the report of the mountain officer.

Premiere of the theatre play "A Game of Illusion" by Pierre Corneille, German by Simon Werle, in a production by Mateja Koležnik. The Slovenian director was already responsible for the successful Chemnitz premiere of "Yvonne, Princess of Burgundy".
