Press conference on the Bernsdorf swimming complex

On Wednesday, 30 August at 3.30 pm, Mayor Michael Stötzer invites media representatives to a tour of the construction site at the Bernsdorf swimming complex to provide an overview of the status of the construction work and explain the progress of construction.
In June 2016, the city council decided to build a new indoor swimming pool suitable for competitions with a 25-metre lane on the site of the Bernsdorf outdoor pool.
The new swimming complex at the site of the outdoor pool in Bernsdorf will replace the functions of the Bernsdorf indoor swimming pool, which has since been closed, and strengthen the location of the outdoor pool.
The construction is to receive 75 per cent funding from the Saxony Investment Strengthening Act (Sächsisches Investitionskraftstärkungsgesetz Budget "Sachsen") and began in spring 2020.
The new indoor swimming pool will have a 25-metre swimming pool with six lanes as well as a teaching pool that can also be used by schools for swimming lessons. A small paddling pool area is planned for families with smaller children. A diving pool is also planned for the new indoor swimming pool in Bernsdorf.
