At its meeting yesterday, the City Council granted its approval in accordance with the service concession agreement for the wastewater disposal fee schedule of supplier eins for the disposal of wastewater in the area of the City of Chemnitz (AEB Abwasser) and for the fee schedule of supplier eins for the acceptance and treatment of wastewater from septic tanks without outlets, wastewater sludge from domestic sewage treatment plants and faecal sludge from faecal pits in the City of Chemnitz, each valid from 1 January 2025.
Supplier eins charges wastewater disposal fees to the users of all public wastewater facilities on the basis of the General Terms and Conditions for the Disposal of Wastewater in the City of Chemnitz (AEBAbwasser).
For the discharge of wastewater into the public wastewater facilities (essentially operating costs), supplier eins will charge €1.88 per cubic metre for wastewater and €0.54 per square metre for rainwater if discharged into public sewers and cleaned by a wastewater treatment plant from 1 January 2025.
The fee sheet will be published in the Official Gazette on 20 December 2024.
Background:
In accordance with the service concession agreement, the former Stadtwerke Chemnitz AG, which has been operating as eins energie in sachsen GmbH & Co. KG (Versorger eins) since 2010, took over the task of wastewater disposal from the City of Chemnitz as the concessionaire from 1 January 2003.
With the 1st addendum dated 12 January 2012, the service concession agreement was specified in more detail, which became necessary in particular against the background of the legal situation that has developed since the contract was concluded. The 1st addendum has been in force since 1 January 2013.
Supplier one fulfils all wastewater disposal tasks legally assigned to the city, insofar as these are not assigned to the waste management company of the City of Chemnitz (ESC) in the service concession agreement. In the city's wastewater disposal area, supplier one is responsible for carrying out all technical and commercial activities required for the proper operation of the city's public wastewater facilities.
