Marriage in Chemnitz

Information from the city's registry office

Those who have the choice are spoilt for choice - and in Chemnitz this also applies to the places where wedding couples can say "I do". To ensure that everything is perfect on such a special day, the city's registry office asks all wedding guests to take note of the following information:

Appointments for marriages must always be arranged directly with the registry office. This also applies if the marriage is to take place at a location other than Chemnitz Town Hall. Appointments can be made at the earliest six months before the date of the marriage. Marriages are possible during the office hours of the registry office. From January to March and from November to December, weddings can be held on Fridays and Saturdays between 9 am and 12 noon. From April to October, the registry office also offers appointments for marriages outside office hours. Marriages are not performed on Sundays, public holidays, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
