Market information: Spring and Easter market, additional weekly market dates and flea market

Spring and Easter market: From Saturday 16 March to Saturday 30 March - with the exception of Sunday 17 March and Good Friday 29 March - the City of Chemnitz is holding a spring and Easter market on the Neumarkt by the town hall, open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am to 3 pm.

With colourful market decorations including an Easter crown and flower arrangements, the market gets Chemnitz residents and their guests in the mood for spring and Easter. There will be 40 stalls selling Easter-themed products such as wooden and floral decorations, plants and gifts. The youngest market visitors are invited to make Easter decorations and take a spin on the children's carousel. A petting zoo with bunnies, lambs and alpacas is sure to be another popular attraction. A "running Easter bunny" and street musicians provide all kinds of entertainment and fun. Snacks and drinks will of course also be on offer at the spring and Easter market.

Additional weekly market dates: On Monday, 18 March and Monday, 25 March, the weekly market will be held at the town hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the occasion of the Spring and Easter Market with its fresh produce assortments.

Flea market : This year's first flea market will take place on Sunday, 17 March from 9 am to 3 pm in the area around the town hall. A wide range of old and second-hand goods will once again be available to browse, find and buy, and there will be plenty of food and drink on offer to cater for the physical well-being of junk dealers and market visitors.

It is not necessary for junk dealers to register in advance. If you want to take part, simply turn up at the town hall on Sunday morning at 7 am. The market master will collect the stall fee on site. A square metre costs 2.60 euros plus VAT. The costs for a stand can be found in the City of Chemnitz's bylaws for charging fees for the use of market areas - online at www.chemnitz.de > Forms and bylaws > Order and safety > Bylaws > Charging fees for the use of market areas. The Chemnitz Market Statutes apply to the event.
