Market information: Father Christmas is waiting for mail again

Girls and boys who would like to meet Father Christmas on the fairytale stage should write to the Christmas Market Studio

In six weeks' time tomorrow, the pre-Christmas season begins in Chemnitz with the Chemnitz Christmas Market, which traditionally opens on the Friday (30 November 2012) before the first Advent. "Every year again": As in previous years, Father Christmas will greet the children on the fairytale stage of the Christmas market at 5 p.m. on the dot in 2012 and delight them with a fairytale surprise. And because six weeks is not such a long time, Father Christmas will once again be handing in his own personal "wish list" at Chemnitz City Council's public order office, addressed to girls and boys aged four to six who have the courage and desire and are curious to meet Father Christmas on the stage: Father Christmas is once again waiting for mail - and anyone who would like to write to him can once again contact the Christmas Market Studio - here is the address: City of Chemnitz, Ordnungsamt, Sachgebiet Marktwesen, 09106 Chemnitz.

The sender will receive an invitation from Father Christmas himself and should be able to recite a poem or song during their grand appearance on the fairytale stage. Santa will give them a present as a thank you. Parents, grandparents or siblings are of course welcome to help write the letter or draw a picture. Santa's helpers look forward to receiving your letters. Enquiries about Santa's post can be made at the Christmas Market Studio on 0371 488-3130.

Note for editorial offices: The Chemnitz Christmas Market will take place this year from 30 November to 23 December 2012. Information is already available online at www.chemnitz.de. As usual, further details about the Chemnitz Christmas Market 2012, including information about the erection of the large Christmas tree on the market square by the town hall, will be provided in good time at a press conference in mid-November.
