Break for weekly market at the town hall: This year's last weekly market at Chemnitz town hall will take place on Saturday, 16 November from 8 am to 1 pm. The pre-Christmas period in Chemnitz will then begin with the erection of the Christmas tree on the market on Saturday afternoon (PM 726 from 06.11.2013) and the setting up of the Christmas market from Monday, 16 November. The Chemnitz Christmas market around the town hall starts on Friday, 29 November and ends on Monday, 23 December - detailed information on the Christmas market will be provided at the press conference on Wednesday, 13 November at 11 a.m. in the Bürgerhaus Am Wall (PM 725 from 06.11.2013).
Weekly market at the Red Tower: From Tuesday, 19 November to Friday, 13 December, the weekly market will be offered in a smaller form at the Red Tower - with the exception of the following days: the Day of Prayer and Repentance holiday (Wednesday, 20 November), the Mountain Parade (Saturday, 30 November) and Saturday, 7 December. The weekly market at the Red Tower is open Tuesdays to Fridays from 9 am to 4 pm and Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm.
Weekly markets in residential areas: The weekly markets in Georgstraße, Ernst-Enge-Straße and Dr.-Salvador-Allende-Straße await their customers in November and December as follows: Georgstraße until 28 December: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, Saturday and 24 and 31 December from 8 am to 12 noon; Ernst-Enge-Straße until 30 December: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, Saturday and 24 and 31 December from 8 am to 12 noon; Dr.-Salvador-Allende-Straße until 30 December: Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on 24 and 31 December from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
Christmas weekly market at the Roter Turm: The City of Chemnitz is holding a Christmas weekly market at the Roter Turm - open on Monday, 23 December from 9 am to 3 pm and on Tuesday, 24 December from 8 am to 12 noon.
New Year's Eve market at the town hall: Before the turn of the year, there is one more opportunity to buy fresh produce for the New Year's Eve celebrations at the Neumarkt am Rathaus - the market is open on Monday, 30 December from 9 am to 3 pm and on Tuesday, 31 December from 8 am to 12 noon. Carp and trout, spices, sauerkraut, gherkins, olives, meat and bakery products, dairy products as well as flowers and plants are on offer at the New Year's Eve market. The customers' physical well-being will also be catered for.
Weekly market at the town hall 2014: The weekly market at the town hall will start in the new year on Tuesday, 8 January 2014 and will be open from Tuesday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm.
The weekly market in the three markets in residential areas will take place as follows in 2014:
Georgstraße - 2 January to 30 December: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, on Saturday and on 24 and 31 December from 8 am to 12 noon;
Ernst-Enge-Straße - 2 January to 31 December: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, on Saturday and on 24 and 31 December from 8 am to 12 noon;
Dr.-Salvador-Allende-Straße - 2 January to 31 December: Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on 24 and 31 December from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
