Make it greener days 2025

Numerous events on the topic of urban nature in September

From 1 to 30 September, the "Mach's grüner Tage" will take place in Chemnitz for the third time. "Make it greener" is a campaign for Chemnitz's urban nature. The city of Chemnitz wants to raise awareness of issues relating to "nature in the city" and show how each individual can exert influence. The campaign is organised by the Urban Nature Team, consisting of the City Planning Office, Environmental Office and Green Space Office of the City of Chemnitz.

Chemnitz residents can expect a varied programme. Chemnitz associations, committed citizens and the Botanical Garden are offering free public talks and tours on nature-related topics. The adult education centre is also taking part with themed courses. A bicycle tour leads to the Chemnitz community gardens and there is also an exploratory tour along the Chemnitz River.

This year's programme also includes "City Cycling", which takes place in Chemnitz from 1 to 21 September. One highlight is the rally as part of "Sports United" on 6 September, in which twelve tours from the Capital of Culture region will lead to the Karl Marx Monument and then ride together to the eins stadium on Gellertstraße.

Following the one-week campaign periods in 2023 and 2024, this year's Mach's grüner Tage will take place throughout the whole of September. The Climate Adaptation Week of the Centre for Climate Adaptation (ZKA) and the Green Building Action Week of the German Green Building Association (BuGG) will also be used as a reference.
