KOSMOS: Information for road users
Closures and obstructions around the festival on 8 June
This year's KOMOS Festival will take place on Saturday 8 June from 12 noon to midnight in the area around Erich-Schmidt-Straße, Promenadenstraße, Theunertstraße, Schloßstraße, Schloßteichstraße and Matthesstraße.
In connection with this event, there will be the following traffic restrictions from Friday, 7 June to Sunday, 9 June:
Closures and stopping restrictions
- Full road closures from Friday, 7 June, 8 am to Sunday, 9 June, approx. 6 pm:
Erich-Schmidt-Straße, Promenadenstraße between Theunertstraße and Arndtplatz, Theunertstraße, Schloßteichstraße between Theunertstraße and Arndtstraße
- Full road closures from Saturday, 8 June, 6 am to Sunday, 9 June, 8 am:
Bergstraße
- Full road closures from Saturday, 8 June, 10 am to Sunday, 9 June, 2 am:
Matthesstraße between Leipziger Straße and Bergstraße, Schloßteichstraße, Hechlerstraße between Salzstraße and Schloßteichstraße, Promenadenstraße between Schloßteichstraße and Arndtplatz
(regular traffic free until Saturday, 8 June, 2 p.m.)
- Closures for through traffic due to closure of the event site:
Bergstraße between Salzstraße and Schloßteichstraße, Promenadenstraße between Hartmannstraße and Theunertstraße, Schloßstraße between Hartmannstraße and Theunertstraße and between Arndtstraße and Georgstraße, Arndtplatz, Arndtstraße, Georgstraße between Arndtplatz and Mühlenstraße, Nordstraße between Georgstraße and Müllerstraße, Seumestraße
- Stopping bans will be put in place on the following streets to safeguard the event:
Brückenstraße, Arndtstraße, Schloßstraße, Theunertstraße, Promenadenstraße, Erich-Schmidt-Straßee, Schloßteichstraße, Matthesstraße and in the Schloßberg and Hartmannstraße car parks (opposite the police station)
Diversion
It is possible to bypass the traffic closures via Mühlenstraße - Theaterstraße - Hartmannstraße - Leipziger Straße.
Speed limit
Due to its proximity to the event site, a 30 km/h speed limit has been imposed on Hartmannstraße. Compliance with the speed limit will be monitored by the public order office.
Parking and public transport
We strongly recommend that you use public transport to get to the festival.
