Knowing where the pepper grows - a journey into the world of spices

On Friday, 8 April, from 7 to 8.30 pm, anyone interested is invited to the lecture "Knowing where the pepper grows - a journey into the world of spices" in the TIETZ event hall. Spice expert Richard Friedrich will share all kinds of interesting facts about spices, their origins and their uses.

Richard Friedrich provides insights into the world of spices, reports on his insights into the cooking pots of various countries and on his visits to spice farmers in their fields. Richard Friedrich is co-founder of the Chemnitz-based spice manufacturer "Direkt vom Feld".
The lecture will cover the aromas, colours and effects of spices and will also talk about different tastes. A lot can be learnt about spices with information on their origin, cultivation and quality. Last but not least, the speaker will explain how spices promote health and well-being. Finally, selected spice ideas invite you to try them in your own cooking.
