Information: The Girls'Day working group in Chemnitz has developed a new concept for the 2013 events, which is more closely aligned with the class levels and can be better integrated into the career guidance concepts of the schools. The current registration figures suggest that the new concept has been very well received. Girls'Day also recognises a company that trains girls and takes them on after their training. Boys'Day is being organised nationwide for the third time: The aim is to enable boys to get to know new professions, particularly in the social sector, and to experience their own skills, question traditional ideas of masculinity and open up new options for career and life planning. In Chemnitz, the hospital, municipal daycare centres and after-school care centres and other facilities offer boys the opportunity to try out social professions. (Initial information on this year's programme was already published in PM 149 dated 04.04.2013 - www.chemnitz.de.)
Last year, a total of 616 pupils took part in the 12th Girls' Day - Girls' Future Day and the 3rd Boys' Day.
