Invitation to the city's 3rd education fair

Before moving from primary to secondary school, pupils and parents should be able to obtain comprehensive information. This is why the city has been organising an annual education fair since 2010 to inform the families of fourth-graders.

After consistently positive feedback from pupils, parents and schools, the city is now organising another education fair on Saturday, 24 November from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the foyer of Chemnitz University of Technology, Reichenhainer Straße 90, where twelve municipal secondary schools and seven municipal grammar schools will be presenting themselves this year. For the first time, three independent organisations will also be represented at the education fair.

According to the school administration office, the two education fairs organised by the city of Chemnitz so far have shown that parents and children respond well to the information on offer and are happy to make direct contact with the schools. After all, the transition from primary school to secondary school is a crucial point in a child's educational path.
The transfer certificate for grammar school has become a requirement for many parents today. However, it is worth looking for a secondary school with a suitable profile, especially for children whose grades do not point so clearly in the direction of grammar school. This education fair offers Chemnitz fourth-graders who will be changing schools next year the opportunity to find out about the educational profiles and special learning and leisure programmes of individual educational institutions together with their parents.

Additional school-specific information from CVAG, the Chemnitz Regional Office of the Saxon Education Agency and the Chemnitz District Pupils' Council will round off the education fair's suggestions. As usual, the City of Chemnitz will provide information about the participating schools in the run-up to the education fair in the city's official gazette and at www.chemnitz.de. Information about the programme of the 3rd Education Fair is also provided in a flyer which is available to the public to take away and can also be found online at www.chemnitz.de.
