Integrated urban development concept 2035 is created
Invitation to the future workshop for citizens on 19 April, 5 p.m., "Südlicher Sonnenberg" primary school, Jakobstraße
On Wednesday, 19 April at 5 pm, all interested Chemnitz residents are invited to take part in the future workshop at the "Südlicher Sonnenberg" primary school in Jakobstraße and actively help shape the Integrated Urban Development Concept - Chemnitz 2035 (INSEK).
What will our Chemnitz look like in 2035? What role will the city play internationally and regionally? What will life be like in the Chemnitz of tomorrow? How and where will people live, work, learn and celebrate? Which impulses from the Capital of Culture process can be used profitably for further urban development?
These and other questions about the future of the INSEK 2035 will be discussed with politicians, administrators, citizens and other stakeholders who are actively involved in the development of Chemnitz.
The Integrated Urban Development Concept - Chemnitz 2035 (INSEK) is a concept that is not just one of many, but THE urban concept. It creates a basis and approaches for action for future-proof urban development.
As an overarching umbrella concept, INSEK 2035 is intended to be a strategic guideline for future planning, decision-making and action. The aim is to recognise strengths and potential, derive goals and formulate future tasks. An integrated urban development concept is a framework instrument for urban development that shows how to deal with challenges and future tasks for the entire city and the next 15 to 20 years. Chemnitz is constantly changing. New signs mean new priorities for action.
The City of Chemnitz's urban planning department is developing an INSEK in order to take these developments on board in a targeted and forward-looking manner and to steer them in a positive direction.
The concept is a continuation of the SEKo 2020 urban development concept and builds on the city's existing specialist plans and projects. It also draws on the results of the SEKo 2020 evaluation and the findings from the Morgenstadt project.
The Integrated Urban Development Concept - Chemnitz 2035 should be ready by the end of 2023. It is also an important prerequisite for obtaining funding.
