Information from the Citizens' Office: Publication of age and marriage anniversaries - objections can be lodged at any time

The following public notice, which has also been published in the official gazette of the City of Chemnitz and online at www.chemnitz.de, citizens' attention is drawn to the possibility of lodging an objection in the following matter: Pursuant to Section 33(2) of the Saxon Registration Act, the registration authority may publish data on old-age and marriage anniversaries (names, doctor's degree, addresses and the date and type of anniversary) and transmit them to the press, radio and other media for the purpose of publication. Old-age anniversaries are residents celebrating their 70th or a later birthday; marriage anniversaries are residents celebrating their golden wedding anniversary or a later marriage anniversary. This does not apply if the person concerned objects to the publication or transmission of their data.

Objections already submitted in previous years remain valid and do not have to be repeated.

The application to object to the publication of data is available from the Chemnitz registration office, the city's citizen service centres and on the Internet at www.chemnitz.de > Forms > Letter D (data protection) - here is the link:

Objections to the transfer of a data subject's data should be addressed to the City of Chemnitz, Citizens' Office, Registration Office, 09106 Chemnitz (headquarters: Düsseldorfer Platz 1) and can also be submitted to any citizen service centre of the City of Chemnitz.

Office hours of the registration office (Düsseldorfer Platz 1): Monday and Friday 8:30 am to 12 noon, Tuesday and Thursday 08:30 am to 6 pm and Saturday 9 am to 1 pm.
