Further sewer construction section on Hofer Straße in Mittelbach completed - road opening tomorrow
After completion of the construction work, the remaining road marking work will be carried out on the carriageway over the next few days, as this requires temperatures of at least five degrees Celsius.
As part of the construction work, the drinking water pipe was also renewed and a new wearing course was applied to the carriageway.
The construction work - a coordinated measure between the city's civil engineering department, the ESC and the energy company eins energie in Sachsen - was carried out with traffic lights on only one side of the B 173 federal road, so that traffic could be guided past the construction site at all times except for a three-week full closure.
The total costs amount to approx. 500,000 €.
The completion of the 2012 section will realise the implementation of the wastewater disposal concept of the waste disposal company (ESC). A final section will follow in 2013, coordinated by the civil engineering office with ESC and energy company eins energie in Sachsen. Wastewater and drinking water pipes will be renewed and road construction measures realised. The necessary renovation of Hofer Straße will be decided separately by the civil engineering department and will be carried out as part of the scheduled road maintenance.
Note for the media: Detailed information on the construction work has already been published - see press releases at www.chemnitz.de.
