Funfairs on 5 October and 2 November cancelled
The funfairs planned for 5 October and 2 November unfortunately have to be cancelled. The currently valid Saxon Corona Protection Ordinance allows the organisation of fairs. However, this possibility is linked to the requirements regarding hygiene concept, distance and traceability as well as visitor restrictions.
The distancing regulations and access controls to ensure a maximum number of visitors cannot be guaranteed for the funfairs in Chemnitz city centre. Under these circumstances, it is organisationally and economically impossible to hold the fairs. The traders were of course informed of the cancellation in writing.
The City of Chemnitz normally organises annual markets on the market areas around the town hall on a Monday from February to November.
