Funding programme of the Socio-Cultural Youth Fund for young cultural initiatives
Last call - opportunity to apply for funding for socio-cultural projects in 2019 - application deadline ends on 1 November 2018
Sponsors of socio-cultural projects have until Thursday, 1 November 2018, to apply for funding from the "Socio-Cultural Youth Fund" funding programme. Approximately 50,000 euros in project funding is available each year. Funding is provided for temporary projects in which new forms of programmes and activities in socioculture are tested. Whether new forms of citizen participation or artistic impulses in the neighbourhood, urban renewal, ecology and environmental protection or topics relating to history and cultural identity, integration and inclusion - there are no limits to the variety of topics. The projects should have an experimental and innovative character and be exemplary for other socio-cultural actors and organisations.
In this way, the fund encourages project ideas that are cross-disciplinary and cross-thematic in nature and that reflect on how people want to live in the future and how a new sense of community can be created. Projects that aim to promote the participation of children and young people are particularly in demand.
Projects that require short-term (one-year) time planning due to their concept and scope can be supported. Fund support is not limited to the implementation phase, but can also include the concept development and follow-up phases of a project.
The prerequisite for such funding is that the organisers can demonstrate special artistic demands and that the projects are suitable for presenting the importance of socioculture for the cultural life of the city of Chemnitz to the public.
Who can apply for funding? Legal and natural persons as well as staff associations who wish to realise temporary cultural projects for children and young people are eligible to apply. Applicants must be based in Chemnitz or wish to realise their project in the city of Chemnitz. Minors or initiatives consisting of minors can submit their applications via an association.
What is funded: Small, experimental cultural projects with a specific thematic focus and a time limit are supported. Whether a video project on cultural diversity, democracy and integration, a hip-hop workshop or a photo exhibition on the transformation of a neighbourhood or a project with young people on graffiti and the use of new media art - there are no limits to imagination and experimentation. What is needed is openness and creativity, a love of craftsmanship and design, curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
How to apply for funding: Applications for financial support must be made in writing. There is a separate application form for this purpose.
How much funding can be applied for: The funding from the Socio-Cultural Youth Fund for this funding programme is limited to a maximum of 2,500 euros per measure and should not exceed 90 percent of the total costs/financing.
A specialist working group of the Socio-Cultural Youth Fund under the leadership of the
Kulturbetrieb der Stadt Chemnitz prepares the decisions on the applications received by February 2019. The projects (including the preparation period) may not start before the beginning of January 2019.
