Forms of late medieval piety in Chemnitz

As part of the series "The City Archive presents", a lecture on "Forms of late medieval piety in Chemnitz" will take place on Wednesday 13 February at 6 pm in the Chemnitz City Archive building, Aue 16. The speaker is Siegfried Bayer from Chemnitz. Admission is free.
After a snapshot of Chemnitz in the 14th and 15th centuries, the speaker will present the characteristics of late medieval piety and its forms in the city. These include the founding of the Franciscan monastery in 1481 as well as the purchase of indulgences, for example by the Neefe family. Pious brotherhoods such as the Konstabler-Gesellschaft also existed in Chemnitz. A look back at that time is also interesting because the forms of piety at that time are far removed from those of today.
