In the November edition of the Musikcafé, Nancy Gibson, Director of the Municipal Music School, talks to Matthias Bega about the upcoming Chemnitz revue "C the Centuries - A Chemnitz Revue in Sound and Vision". The actor, lecturer and consultant for musical theatre is the leading designer of the revue of the Municipal Music School, which will take place on 8 and 9 November at the Kraftwerk e. V.. With music, dance and all kinds of interesting facts, the event will present the contemporary history of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.
Matthias Bega will talk about his artistic work and present his dramaturgical work on the revue. There will also be concert performances by a small ensemble of pupils from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School. The audience is cordially invited to sing along.

The Municipal Music School invites you to an extraordinary concert in the Capital of Culture Year 2025. The history of the city of Chemnitz will be brought to life with music, dance and all kinds of interesting facts. The character of Zeitgeist will guide you through Chemnitz's past, starting with its origins in 1143. Ensembles from the Municipal Music School will accompany the journey through time with music from different centuries. The musical highlight of the revue will be a performance by the Gruppa Karl-Marx-Stadt together with the pop string players from the Municipal Music School.
The Musikcafé Da Capo im Kraftwerk e. V. will offer an insight into the revue with short musical contributions on Thursday, 6 November.

Duo Taschenspiel - Concert
Venue: Concert hall of the municipal music school, Gerichtsstraße 1

Duo Taschenspiel will be demonstrating just how versatile bassoon and percussion can be in concert at the Municipal Music School's concert hall. The duo was founded in 2017 and consists of Stefan Balciunas (bassoon) and Felix Anton Lehnert (percussion). It is certainly one of the most extraordinary duos that German musical life has to offer. It also inspired the Leipzig composers Shi-ran Yinon and Stephan König, among others, to write musical treasures for the musicians. The duo's repertoire also includes arrangements of classical music and original US-American compositions, some in the Funkytown style. The ensemble's style is unusual and includes conventional, modern and experimental sounds.
A special treat awaits the audience at the concert on 16 November: the world premiere of the work "Jeux pour deux" for bassoon, three mallets and three timpani by composer Christian Ridil(www.christianridil.de). The composer will be present in person at the concert. Nancy Gibson, Director of the Municipal Music School, will moderate the event.
Felix-Anton Lehnert is principal timpanist of the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra and plays as a guest in many orchestras. Stefan Balciunas is principal bassoonist with the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra and teaches at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, among other places.

You don't have to be able to read lyrics, see or touch sheet music or instruments or hear rhythm to make music like a dream.
Young artists with and without disabilities will once again join forces with the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra to create a dreamlike evening that epitomises dreams come true and also makes you dream. The integrative ensemble "Motus" from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School will also be taking part again.
