European Week of Sport
Floor Fighters Chemnitz are official ambassadors in 2019
Sport and exercise will be promoted throughout Europe from 23 to 30 September 2019. In Chemnitz, numerous organisations are taking part on the initiative of the city's EU office. The programme aims to encourage people to enjoy joint activities. For example, the Don Bosco Haus is organising Viking chess "Mölkky" and other street games for families, while the Kappelino children's and family centre is drumming "Family Beats" with Drums Alive during the campaign week. Between Martinstraße and the Bunte Gärten, the Sonnenberg district management is organising a "Bewegter Sonnenberg" sports mile on 25 September in collaboration with the city sports association and other important players. The Floor Fighters will also be there.
This year, the Floor Fighters Chemnitz are official ambassadors of the European Week of Sport in Chemnitz. Defender Jan Seipel: "I became an ambassador to bring our sport closer to other people. Children can discover sport for themselves and are encouraged to move more. Sport is fun, brings people from different backgrounds together, promotes team spirit and is also healthy. Personally, I really enjoy sport, it helps me switch off and I can meet friends."
Various taster sessions for gymnastics, swimming, fencing, cycling, historical martial arts, kobudo, football or even senior sports and senior gymnastics can be tried out by young and old during the week.
The ambassadors from the Floor Fighters team invite you to a taster session on 26 September from 4.30 to 6 p.m. in the sports hall of the industrial school in Zieschestraße.
If you still haven't had enough of playing, you can let off steam at the sports games night #BeActiveNight at the German Games Museum.
Enjoy nature on the go with guided walks or at the "Chemnitz families on the move" hiking event organised by the City of Chemnitz's children and youth representatives.
The Chemnitz programme will be rounded off with the closing event #chemnitzbeweg(t)dich on Monday, 30 September, in front of the stadium on Gellertstraße. Here, the Floor Fighters will be swinging the floorball stick together with the CFC and other active players. There will also be free guided tours of the stadium and talks as well as hands-on activities.
