European Mobility Week 2024

Rethinking mobility: sharing street spaces

The European Mobility Week will once again take place in Chemnitz from 16 to 22 September. The permanent title "Mix and Move! - climate-friendly mobility" will be supplemented by annually changing focal points. This year, with "Shared Public Space - Using Street Spaces Together", local authorities and companies from all over Europe will bring the various aspects of sustainable mobility to life for their citizens.

The European Mobility Week will kick off on 16 September at 7.30 a.m. in the Lichthalle in Moritzhof. Interested parties can obtain breakfast bags, flyers and a bike code there, with support from the City of Chemnitz.
In addition to a preliminary programme, a colourful range of events and activities will be offered until 22 September. Among other things:

On 17 September at 5 pm, the City of Chemnitz invites you to the discussion "And how do you/your child get to school?" at Weltecho and on 19 September at 5.15 pm to the discussion "Chemnitz is changing lanes: mobility for all" at Open Space. Experts and citizens can enter into a joint dialogue and exchange questions and comments.

On Saturday, 21 September, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., fans of exercise will not miss out and can opt to take part in a 130 km 4-river bike tour organised by the ADFC.
On Saturday at 3 p.m., a choir and brass concert organised by the Chemnitz Municipal Music School will once again take place in the concourse of Chemnitz Central Station.
The city of Chemnitz has been participating in the campaign founded by the European Commission since 2003.
