EUROCITIES project: "Artist in Residence - Chemnitz-Tampere 2013"
City of Chemnitz and Finnish twin city Tampere organise artist project for the second time Information on participation criteria - application to the Cultural Office by 21 June 2013
For the second time, the Cultural Office of the City of Chemnitz is organising an artist-in-residence project together with the Finnish twin city of Tampere as part of its collaboration in the cultural forum of the European city network EUROCITIES.
The first successfully realised project of this kind was premiered in 2009: Jürgen Höritzsch from Chemnitz was invited to Tampere and Johanna Pihlajamaa from Finland to Chemnitz by jury decision(www.chemnitz.de ). The artist project is now being relaunched for 2013: Tampere is looking for an applicant for the working stay here in Chemnitz, and in Chemnitz artists once again have the opportunity to apply for the stay in the Finnish twin city - the closing date for applications to be sent to the City of Chemnitz/Cultural Office is Friday, 21 June 2013.
The following criteria for the application for the EUROCITIES project "Artist in Residence - Chemnitz - Tampere 2013" will also be published in the official gazette of the City of Chemnitz in the issue of 22 May 2013 and on the Internet at www.chemnitz.de
Criteria for applying to participate in the EUROCITIES project "Artist in residence - Chemnitz - Tampere 2013"
Services offered:
Working stay in the city of Tampere/Finland from 01.11. to 30.11.2013
Studio and living space in the city of Tampere (costs covered by the city of Tampere)
An exhibition/exhibition opening in November in a gallery in Tampere
Work grant for the entire stay in the amount of € 1,000.00
Travel expenses covered by the City of Chemnitz.
Conditions of participation:
Individual artist residing in Chemnitz or the region
Art genre: painting/graphics, photography, video
Completed artistic studies or comparable training with at least two years of specialised practice
public representation through personal exhibitions and/or participation in exhibitions and/or participation in competitions.
Application deadline:
Friday, 21 June 2013. Applications received after this date will unfortunately not be considered for selection.

Curriculum vitae with a description of your artistic career
Portfolio in the form of a portfolio with work samples (sketches, photos, etc.; format no larger than A3; no more than 5 sheets)
No liability will be accepted for the submission of original works.

Note on selection:
Applicants will be notified by the end of June 2013; the selection will be made by an expert jury of the City of Chemnitz (you will receive a separate press release regarding the composition of the jury). There is no legal entitlement to participate in the project.
