You don't talk about money? OH yes!!!
This is the only way women can finally find out whether they are paid significantly less than their male colleagues in the same job. Unfortunately, this is a widespread reality in Germany, which means that women statistically earn 21 per cent less than men. This puts Germany in fourth last place in Europe. An indictment of equality.
The beginning of the end of secret wages and salaries
Since January 2018, companies with more than 200 employees have been obliged to disclose their salary lists under the German Pay Transparency Act. Pay transparency is a step on the way to actual equality. Especially in times of a shortage of skilled labour, companies that let women know that they are not paid less because of their gender score points.
Fair wages bring benefits for women, men and companies! In Sweden and the USA, it has long been possible to view salary lists in order to compare the wages of women and men for work of equal value.
"Equal pay for equal work"
This was demanded by the women who won the right to vote for women exactly 100 years ago. The Basic Law came into force 70 years ago, but Article 3 has still not been fulfilled:
It guarantees gender equality and prohibits discrimination and favouritism. Companies that pay women less than men despite having the same job are therefore acting against the constitution! (BAG of municipal equal opportunities officers and women's offices)
