Emergency aid for flood victims is paid out
The city of Chemnitz is now paying out emergency aid for flood victims. The aim of the emergency aid is to provide rapid and appropriate financial assistance to affected citizens. A one-off payment of 400 euros per affected adult and 250 euros per affected minor child will be made. The payment is limited to 2,000 euros per household.
The emergency aid can be applied for immediately at the City of Chemnitz. As this is "emergency" aid, the application must be submitted by 25 June 2013. Applications received after this date cannot be considered according to the conditions of the Free State. The state's emergency aid is paid to people whose primary residence is in a municipality affected by flooding and whose owner-occupied housing is damaged. Damage is deemed to have occurred if at least part of the ground floor or higher floors in residential buildings have been flooded and this has resulted in material damage.
Those affected can find application forms on the Internet at www.chemnitz.de, in the citizen service centres and in the customer portal of the Social Services Department in Moritzhof.
The customer portal is located on the ground floor of the Moritzhof Citizens' and Administration Centre, Bahnhofstraße 53, 09111 Chemnitz.
