Democracy projects will also be funded in 2024
Project ideas can be submitted until 15 January
In 2024, the programme will once again support initiatives, associations, groups and individuals who are committed to a democratic, tolerant and cosmopolitan Chemnitz. The City of Chemnitz, the Free State of Saxony and the federal government are once again providing funding for this through the federal "Live Democracy!" programme. Applications for funding can be submitted until 15 January 2024.
In the coming year, €80,000 will again be available from municipal budget funds, €160,000 in federal funds from the "Live Democracy!" funding programme (subject to confirmation of the budget) and €50,000 from the Free State of Saxony (subject to confirmation of the budget).
Initiatives, associations, groups and individuals who wish to participate in the implementation of the municipal action strategy for the promotion of democracy can apply for grants of up to 20,000 euros each for the realisation of the projects. They can submit project proposals that implement measures that are aligned with the content of the applicable target pyramid. This can be found at www.chemnitz.de/demokratiefoerderung.
