For primarily innovative contemporary youth culture projects or spontaneously developing socio-cultural projects for children and young people, it is possible to submit an application for project funding from the Socio-Cultural Youth Fund . Applications for 2019 can be submitted by 1 November 2018 at the latest.

The Free State of Saxony is once again providing additional investment funds for cultural institutions to reduce the backlog of refurbishment and investment in the cultural sector. The prerequisite for funding is that the measure costs at least 5,000 euros. The state will contribute a maximum of 50 per cent of the total expenditure. The City of Chemnitz supports the realisation of the project with a further five percent. The applicant must raise at least ten per cent themselves. The remainder can be financed with the applicant's own funds, donations, sponsoring or similar.

Cultural institutions in need of investment that are able to meet the aforementioned requirements can informally notify the cultural department of their needs for 2019 by 6 August 2018. They will then provide further advice on possible applications.

The Cultural Advisory Board of the City of Chemnitz will discuss the allocation of funding. The Cultural Committee makes the final decision based on the funds available.

The Cultural Management department provides advice on all questions relating to the promotion of art and culture, the promotion of socio-cultural activities and investment measures.
