Applications for cultural funding for 2020 with a maximum application amount of 2,000 euros can be submitted to the City of Chemnitz's cultural department until the deadline of 1 September 2019. Socio-cultural youth fund
For primarily innovative contemporary youth culture projects or spontaneously developing socio-cultural projects for children and young people, it is possible to submit an application for project funding from the Socio-Cultural Youth Fund. Applications for 2020 can be submitted by 1 November 2019 at the latest. The funding guidelines provide information on the conditions for applying for and receiving funding in this area. Applications can also be found here:

Please note: Spontaneous applications for the Socio-Cultural Youth Fund are still possible for the current year 2019. Remaining funds totalling approx. 2,000 euros are available. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the staff of the cultural department.
Investment reinforcement funds
The Free State of Saxony is once again providing investment reinforcement funds for cultural institutions to reduce the renovation and investment backlog in the cultural sector. The prerequisite for funding is that the measure costs at least 5,000 euros. The
state contributes a maximum of 50 per cent of the total expenditure. The City of Chemnitz will contribute a further 5 per cent to the implementation of the project. The applicant must provide at least 10 per cent themselves. The remainder can be financed with the applicant's own funds, donations, sponsoring or similar. Cultural institutions in need of investment that are able to meet the above-mentioned requirements can informally report their needs for 2020 to the cultural department by 16 August 2019. They will then provide further advice on possible applications.
