This year's CITY CYCLING event in Chemnitz has ended with new records. From 1 to 21 September, active participants were called upon to cover distances by bike. The deadline for adding kilometres expired on 5 October. The final results are now available:
- 3,649 active cyclists
- 209 teams
- 705,741 kilometres
- 116 tonnes ofCO2 avoided compared to driving a car

For the first time, the "most bicycle-active school" category was divided into four sub-categories in order to liven up the competition and make the results more comparable and fairer. In addition, the most bicycle-active company will be honoured for the first time this year.
Award ceremony
On Tuesday, 28 October, from 12.30 pm to 1 pm, Mayor Knut Kunze will award the CITY CYCLING winners and honour their achievements. The award ceremony will take place in the auditorium of the Johannes-Kepler-Gymnasium, Humboldtplatz 1.
Representatives of the press are invited to attend.
