Chemnitz City Festival from 24 to 26 August - traffic authorities ask you to observe the necessary traffic restrictions

From 24 to 26 August, Chemnitz city centre will once again be transformed into a party mile: For the 18th Chemnitz City Festival, there will be a packed stage programme on several stages, including the Firebirds, Stefanie Heinzmann, Klee and Bell, Book & Candle. The Neumarkt will become a musical beer garden and the Stadthallenpark will provide the setting for the Chemnitz club night. Of course, there will once again be lots on offer for children and a fairground with a Ferris wheel and rollercoaster. For the 18th Chemnitz City Festival, traffic restrictions will be necessary in the city centre from Thursday, 23 August, 8 a.m. to Monday, 27 August, 4 p.m. - the City of Chemnitz traffic authority asks road users for their understanding and attention for the following closures.

Full closures from Thursday, 23 August, 8 a.m.: Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen and Theaterstraße and Theaterstraße from Hartmannstraße to Brückenstraße.

Closures for through traffic with residents free from Thursday, 23 August, 8 am: Mühlenstraße between Stadtbad and Brückenstraße (access to Stadtbad and the Brückenstraße stump are free) and Straße der Nationen towards the city from Carolastraße to Brückenstraße.

Due to the extensive construction work, the following closures for stationary traffic (parking areas) will be necessary from Wednesday 22 August: Wednesday 22 Augustfrom 10 a.m. August from 10 a.m.: Parking areas Brückenstraße between Straße der Nationen and Theaterstraße; car park in front of the Oberfinanzdirektion; parking areas Mühlenstraße between Brückenstraße and Stadtbad. Wednesday 22 August from 4 p.m.: Parking spaces in Straße der Nationen (towards the city) between Carolastraße and Brückenstraße.

Market information: Visitors to the weekly market at the town hall should note that the weekly market will be cancelled from Wednesday, 22 August to Saturday, 25 August and will resume on Tuesday, 28 August.
