"Bench for Justin Sonder" is inaugurated
Public event: on 9 November, 12 noon, Brühl, diagonally opposite the Rosa Luxemburg primary school
On Saturday, 9 November at 12 noon, the "Bench for Justin Sonder" on the Brühl diagonally opposite the Rosa-Luxemburg-Grundschule (coordinates: 50.843518, 12.925432) will be officially inaugurated. Lord Mayor Sven Schulze and Christoph Heubner, Chairman of the International Auschwitz Committee, invite you to attend the public event. Former German President Christian Wulff, Saxon Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer and numerous members of Justin Sonder's family are also expected to attend.
Due to the great demand, it was decided to also move the official part of the event outside to the Chemnitz Brühl.
All citizens and representatives of the media are therefore cordially invited to this public event.
The International Auschwitz Committee and the City of Chemnitz would like to commemorate Justin Sonder, an honorary citizen of Chemnitz, in his home town. A sculpture depicting Justin Sonder sitting on a bench will be erected on the Brühl. It is intended to invite people to sit down and engage in conversation with Justin Sonder.
