Artist-in-Residence Project Chemnitz - Tampere

Applications still possible until 21 June - jury members make decision

Applications for participation in the artist-in-residence project Chemnitz - Tampere can be submitted to the City of Chemnitz/Cultural Office until Friday, 21 June 2013 (PM 254 from 15.04.2013).
For the second time, the Cultural Office is organising an artist-in-residence project together with Tampere, Chemnitz's Finnish twin city, as part of its involvement in the cultural forum of the European city network EUROCITIES. The first successfully realised project premiered in 2009: Jürgen Höritzsch from Chemnitz was invited to Tampere by jury decision and Johanna Pihlajamaa from Finland was invited to Chemnitz(www.chemnitz.de ).

The artist project is now being relaunched for 2013: In Tampere, an applicant is being sought for the working stay here in Chemnitz, and in Chemnitz artists will once again have the opportunity to apply for the stay in the Finnish twin city.

To decide which Chemnitz-based artist will go to Tampere, the Cultural Office has invited high-calibre experts from Chemnitz to join the jury: Prof Jörg Steinbach, visual artist and member of the Cultural Advisory Board of the City of Chemnitz, Thomas Bauer-Friedrich, curator of Museum Gunzenhauser, gallery owner Bernd Weise and Jürgen Höritzsch, visual artist and Artist in Residence 2009, have accepted.
The jury will also be chaired by Katrin Voigt, Head of the organising Cultural Office of the City of Chemnitz.
